From the Page Listing screen, click the green pencil icon next to the page you wish to edit. This will display the page in the Page Editor screen, which will look similar to (but not exactly the same as) how the finished page will look.
The Page Editor screen will show each item you create for the page (e.g. blocks of text, images, tables) in a series of boxes and will contain buttons allowing you to edit, delete and arrange these items as well as insert new items.
Each item placed on a page is referred to from here onwards as an element.
Note that the boxes containing each element and the editing buttons will not appear on the finished version of the page - they are only visible while you are editing it.
The editing buttons, which you will use to construct your page, consist of the following:
| |
This button allows an element to be added to the area. |
| |
This button allows an element to be deleted from the area. |
| |
This button allows you to return to an element to make changes to it. |
| |
This button removes all elements from the given area. It is only available when there is at least one element in that area. |
| |
This button allows the entire element contents of an area on another page to be copied to this one. This is especially useful for information that you wish to show on multiple pages (e.g. a list of links, an address or a logo). This button only appears when an area does not contain any elements. |
The down arrow button will cause the element to be moved one position down in situations where there is more than one element in an area. |
|
The up arrow button will cause the element to be moved one position up in situations where there is more than one element in an area. |
With these buttons, you are now ready to add content to your web page.
