This element allows you to display a search mechanism on your site. If your site holds a lot of information and so requires a search facility for people to locate items with, follow this simple procedure:

• Choose the Site search element from the drop down list of items. 
• Click the Add Item button to display the appropriate Edit item screen. 
• Input the relevant information into the boxes provided:  

Text before search box: enter in the field provided what text should go before the search box. e.g."search this site for:"
 
"Submit" button text: enter in the field provided what text should be indicated on the submission button to start the search. e.g. "go"
 
Button image to use: select from the drop down box what image, if any, you would like to use as a submit button.
 
Alignment: by selecting from the drop down list you are able to specify the alignment of search facility. The options available are left aligned, centred, or right aligned.
 
Size of search box: by selecting from the drop down list you are able to specify the size of the search field.
 
Scope of search: by selecting from the drop down list you are able to specify where you want the search to search.
 
Limit to category: select a category that you want the search to be limited to if required.
 
Include "hidden" pages: when switched on, will allow the search to also search in pages which are marked as hidden.
 
Text after search results: Insert in the box provided the text which will appear at the bottom of the search results. Text can be entered containing tags, links, and so on.
 

Click the Store Changes button to save and return to the updated Page Editor screen.
