Your E-Commerce page should now be at a point which you are happy with.

When customers purchase from your site, you will be sent an email. This can be checked and processed through the "E-Commerce" page, from the main menu.

During the process of uploading the spreadsheets and images you would have been used to seeing the following at the top of the page:

  • No new orders to view
  • No old orders to view

But once you start receiving orders, these will change to something similar to this:

  • View new orders (1)
  • View old orders up to 60 days old (2)

"View new orders" has now changed into a link, which will take you through a process of viewing and processing new orders.

A number indicating the amount of new orders will be displayed next to the link; click on the link to view your orders.

You will be taken to an order list, showing details of:

Date

Customer

Amount

Viewed

16/07/2004

Lisa

£45.70

17/07/2004

  1. The date the order was made (a link)
  2. The name of the customer
  3. The amount of the products being purchased (including extra cost)
  4. Whether or not you've previously viewed it.

The date of the order acts as a link, enabling you to view more details about the customer and the products they wish to order. Click on the link.

All the details necessary for the customer to make the purchase are displayed, including payment methods and address.

Take the credit card details and process them the way you would a telephone transaction.

Once you have viewed the purchase details, you are advised to print out the page for your records, and to then click on the "Mark as processed" button.

The order will then be stored on the "old orders" list, and the customer will be sent an email telling them their order has been processed. Once the transaction has been made, all credit card details are removed from the server for security.

You are now able to go through the process again, if there are other new orders waiting. We advise you to check the "View new orders" link on a daily basis, or more if your site is very productive.

'Viewing old orders' allows you to look at orders which you have 'marked as processes'.
This page list the orders and gives you the option of how long they should stay in the list for. Once that time expires the order will be permanently deleted.
