This element allows you to add an interactive multiple-choice quiz to your site.
- Text of quiz link: This is the text which will appear in the element before the user starts the quiz. Something like "Click here to begin the quiz" will usually suffice.
- Main quiz text: This text appears for every question. Within this text, the word {NUMBER} (with curly brackets) is replaced by the current question number, {QUESTION} is replaced by the current question, and {ANSWERS} is replaced by the choice of answers.
- Upload new questions: Before any questions can be shown, you will need to prepare a spreadsheet containing all the questions that will be asked. Download the spreadsheet. The first column of the spreadsheet should contain the question, the next column the correct answer, and the remaining one or more columns should each contain an incorrect answer. The correct and incorrect answers will be shuffled so that the user has to pick the correct one.
- Question selection: Select whether you require the questions to be randomly chosen or given in the order they are in the spreadsheet.
- Number of questions: Select the number of questions from the drop down box.
- Show answers: Select where you want the answers to be shown.
- End-of-quiz text: Enter into the box, the text which will appear at the end of the quiz. This text appears at the end of the quiz. Within this text, the word {SCORE} (with curly brackets) is replaced by the final score.
- Score comments: At the end of the quiz, the percentage score can be used to choose a short phrase to display. In this box, you can list phrases to show people in order of percentage score, like this:
- 0: Better luck next time!
- 50: Not bad!
- 80: Good!
- 100: Perfect!
The above would cause players who got less than 50% to be told "Better luck next time!", players who got 50-79% would be told they were "Not bad!", players who got 80-99% would be told "Good!" and players with 100% would get "Perfect!".
- Text alignment: Select the alignment of the quiz on the page.
- Store Changes: Click on this button to store the changes you have made.
Pre-set Quiz
An alternative to the plain "Quiz" element is the "Quiz (pre-set)" element.
The pre-set quiz works in a very similar way to the normal quiz, except that instead of uploading your own questions, the quiz will use questions from the system's own database. All you need to do is select which difficulty levels and which question categories to use.
